The Guilty's Innocence

He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free...

For those of you who do not know, Tamie and I teach a creative writing class at the local county jail. It has been a very enlightening experience for the both of us. The students we teach have an incredible range of humanity that challenges me every week to re-evaluate my life in the light of their humility and courage.

Tamie put together a short anthology, collecting the writings of our students. It is on sale for $5, with the proceeds going to purchase new books for the inmates. If you are able to purchase a copy, I am sure that you will appreciate their writing and unique perspectives. Go to Tamie's blog to read more:

Thanks for supporting the jail, my friend.

I think you will enjoy reading through the anthology.

A Happy New Year to you.

You and Tami are doing what we all as Christ followers should be doing. You guys are truly supporting the dignity of their humanity by sharing these skills with them. The ability to create something beautiful, and/or useful is truly empowering and I believe that your help will have effects long after they leave the jail.
