Quote of the day

I pulled this off of Sam's site:

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.
P. G. Wodehouse
(1881-1975)

Question: Was this dude single all of his life?

Wodehouse was most famous for his humorous writing. The Jeeves series is justly famous. I guess the quote refers to what he was infamous for his broadcasts against America from Berlin during WW2. He was married and i think eventually became an American citizen! Strange world.

No, he wasn't.

He was one of the best British humorists that ever lived and is one of my favorite authors.

But, he didn't get married until he was 33. Perhaps that sentiment accounts for it (or it could be because he was incredibly shy, however you want to look at it.)

The quote in question is from "The Man Upstairs"

Wodehouse wasn't against America. He liked America. He was a prisoner in Germany for a bit and told them some funny stories which were considered treasonous, by America, England, and France.
