Didn't you know? If you can act you can sing...and vice versa.
I took a listen, and it wasn't what I expected. No, I wouldn't buy the cd, but if the song was on the radio, I wouldn't hurriedly change the station. It's not entertaining or fun, but it's calming.
I'm betting her accountant told her she could sing. People will do anything for a buck nowadays.
I actually liked the song. Very folksy and organic. Not at all what I expected from Minnie Driver. I was thinking something like Paris Hilton, but I quite enjoy the "Beloved" song.

You should know that Minnie Driver actually has a background in opera. This comes out particularly if you watch the recent movie version of Phantom of the Opera where she plays Carlotta (the diva; a role she plays well).
She seems to be quite the talent. Wow.
